Photos: World’s Highest Bridge Opens In China

The world’s highest bridge has opened to traffic in China, connecting two provinces in the mountainous southwest and reducing travel times by as much as three-quarters,
local authorities said on Friday.

This picture taken on December 29, 2016 shows vehicles making their way through the Beipanjiang Bridge, near Bijie in southwest China’s Guizhou province.

The 0.83 mile-long four lane bridge opened to great fanfare after it took more than three years to build.

Equivalent to a 200-storey building, Beipanjiang has just overtaken the Sidu River Bridge in Hubei province to become the world's highest.
