When season 3 ended, Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) was left incapacitated by the Tundae blade. No less than his surrogate son Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) staked Klaus with it, and one of the closing scenes showed the former entombing a semi-conscious Klaus.
Klaus' siblings, on the other hand, were left suspended in an alternate dimension , the dreamscape, after Freya (Riley Voelkel) cast a spell over her and her siblings to escape death. The episode ended with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) driving the Mikaelson siblings' coffins to safety, with her toddler daughter, Hope, in tow.
Since "The Originals" season 4 will see a five-year time jump, Hope (Summer Fontana) will no longer be an innocent two-year-old. She's now seven and curious about her father.
