Kanye West And Wife Kim Kardashian Hire Surrogate To Carry Their 3rd Child

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly struck a $113,000 deal to hire a surrogate to have a third child, an arrangement necessitated by the fact that Kim suffers from a rare condition that could make another pregnancy life-threatening.

TMZ is reporting the arrangement, whereby the couple would pay a surrogate $45,000 in 10 monthly installments and an agency an additional $68,000 to broker the deal.

The surrogate also would receive $5,000 for each additional child she carries ($5,000 for twins and $10,000 for triplets and so on).
Kim, 36, and Kanye, 40, are eager to provide another sibling for North, 4, and Saint, 1, but the pregnancies and deliveries of those children were complicated by Kim’s condition: placenta accreta, wherein the placenta attaches too deeply into the uterine wall.

Her labor with Saint, born in December 2015, was further complicated by the little boy being breech, which added an additional two hours to the delivery.

Kim’s pregnancy trials have played out in recent episodes of her reality TV show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the Daily Mail reported. She also admitted in an interview with Andy Cohen that she has begged her younger sister Khloe, 32, to consider being her surrogate, but she has also talked about how she doesn’t want “to do that to her.”

So, apparently, that’s why Kim and Kanye are turning to an agency to find them a woman to carry their next baby. In a recent KUWTK episode, Kim has talked about about surrendering to the idea of using a surrogate.

“I think that I always knew that surrogacy was an option but I didn’t think it was that realistic of an option,” Kim said. “Now I feel like that’s my reality. I feel like surrogacy is really the only other option for me.”

According to TMZ, the surrogate will have to abide by certain conditions that include common precautions for pregnant women. She won’t be able to smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs. She also can’t use hot tubs or saunas, go near cat litter or apply hair dye. She also can’t consume raw fish and needs to limit herself to one caffeinated beverage per day. Finally, she needs to refrain from sexual intercourse for three weeks following embryo implantation.

TMZ goes on to report that Kim and Kanye will assume the costs and legal and parental responsibilities for any child with congenital or “other abnormalities or defects.” They will also pay the surrogate an additional $4,000 if she loses any reproductive organs in the process.
