David Luiz Reveals The One Unfulfilled ‘Obsession’ He Has At Chelsea

David Luiz says it will be a ‘dream come true’ to win the Premier League, admitting he is ‘obsessed’ to lift the title with Chelsea.
The Brazilian defender has been an influential figure at Stamford Bridge this season as the Blues have impressed in the league and in the FA Cup.

Antonio Conte’s side are four points ahead of London rivals Tottenham in the league and can move a step closer to the title against Middlesbrough on Monday.

Luiz has won the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and two Ligue 1 titles but admits he craves adding a Premier League medal to his collection.

‘I had already won several titles with Chelsea, played my part in a beautiful period in the club’s history and made so many friends,’ the 30-year-old told FourFourTwo .

‘I thought it was time to move on, so I had no regrets. But things change quickly in football.
‘Winning the Premier League has always been an obsession of mine. We’ve worked hard to make this dream come true.’

Chelsea finished 10th last season but, under former Italy boss Conte, are set to win their second title in the space of three years.
And Luiz insists Conte’s impact has been one of the key reasons behind the club’s stunning ascent in the Premier League.

‘There isn’t a tiny detail he isn’t aware of,’ Luiz added. ‘We all know that he trusts in our ability and one of his best qualities is that he treats everyone equally.’

Luiz has brushed aside persistent injury concerns to play all but one of Chelsea’s 34 league games this season.

The former PSG man will hope to inspire another victory when Middlesbrough travel to west London on Monday evening.
