Mother Sacrificed Herself To Stop Daughter From Being Hit By A Car

This is so sad! A mother's extravagant sacrifice for her child!

A mum’s final act before she was killed was to save her 7-year-old daughter’s life by pushing her out of the way of an oncoming car.

Dania Cegeno-Delrosario, 40, and her seven-year-old daughter, Denisse, were crossing a street in Meriden on Friday night when they were struck.

The 40-year-old died shortly after the impact but not before pushing her daughter out of the way.

Denisse has now said that she wouldn’t been alive if it wasn’t for her mother.

She told CBS Hartford: ‘It pushed both of us and it pushed her very hard.’

The impact of being hit pushed the mother partially underneath a parked, white SUV, where she was found.

She was rushed to hospital but later died, while the woman’s daughter was hospitalised with minor injuries.

Denisse has since been released.

The family of Cegeno-Delrosario, who worked as a travel agent and a carer, described her as selfless and hard working.

She had arrived in Connecticut two years ago from the Dominican Republican in the hope of a better life for her family.

An investigation has been launched for the suspect, who is said to have been driving a dark-coloured Nissan with a missing side mirror.
