80-year-old Man Flung Into The Air In hit And Run (photos)

Video footage has captured the shocking moment an elderly man was flung into the air by a speeding car.


CCTV footage shows 80-year-old Mr Donaldson is catapulted several feet upwards by the vehicle.

Thankfully, Mr Donaldson survived the incident.
The clip shows the pensioner leaning back to let a car past after walking into the road to open the door of his own vehicle.

He soon realises an approaching car has no intention of slowing down and tries to jump out of the way. Sadly he’s not quick quick enough and is hit and thrown into the air.

Local shop owner Naser Ansari says Mr Donaldson is currently recovering in hospital after sustaining two broken legs, as well as injuries to his back and fingers.

The 27-second clip captured on Mr Ansari’s CCTV shows cars parked on both sides of the road and Mr Donaldson is only in the road for merely a few seconds before he is hit.

Mr Ansari, who owns Regal Meat Market, St Louis, Missouri, USA, claims the driver didn’t stop to check on the condition of the church security guard.

He says bystanders came to Mr Donaldson’s aid and waited until emergency services arrived and took him to hospital on September 4.
